cause/affect

A graphic design competition for do-gooders. call for entries deadline: nov/09/07.

Our goal: we’re tired of working in isolation. Of sneaking a non-profit client or pro-bono project in through the back door. It’s time we got together to worship the worthy and commend the commendable.

We feel that if we are going to make a difference in our society we need to recognize some of the great strides we have made. But, more importantly, we need to get connected and figure out how we can work together towards the common good. This competition is more than a showcase. It is a celebration of intent, and it offers a reason to come together as a community.

Why enter? Your work will be seen by a jury made up of some of the country’s top creative professionals, art directors, and socially conscious business professionals.

Selected work will be showcased at the cause/affect awards ceremony at the AIGA SF office, December 4, 2007 – open to the entire design community – and may be entered in to our online People’s Choice Award. Winning entrants will be featured on this site, offering you and your clients unprecedented access (the AIGA site typically gets over 400 unique hits a day), as well as official recognition by the AIGA – the professional association for design. Being officially recognized by the AIGA places you at the very forefront of your profession. And being recognized as a socially responsible designer places you at the very forefront of our community.

So dig out that stamp, dust off that showcase piece of work, and show us what you’ve been hiding in that nifty portfolio of yours.
