Arts 2007

2007 winners and honorable mentions

1st: “Mill Valley Film Festival Logo” – MINE
mine_mvff_logo_web

The new Mill Valley Film Festival mark is a stylized combination of the letterforms M and V. In the valley of the V rests a tiny heart, symbolizing the intersection of art and nature and the festival’s love of film. We also redrew the logo for the California Film Institute logo with custom letterforms inspired by Mark Fox’s original Rafael Logo. The three logos now hold together as a single identity — united by consistent typography and bound by a fresh and flexible color system. By drawing on references to landmark signage, employing a color palette inspired by the local environment, we literally gave the Mill Valley Film festival the heart it had been missing.
