“The California Academy of Sciences Exhibit” – Volume Inc.

The Challenge: Design 20,000 square feet of exhibition space in Renzo Piano’s new museum, have it blend seamlessly into the building and the park setting and then engage, educate and inspire a global audience. We co-opted the scientific specimen box as a method of organizing content with a contemporary spin, allowing for the different kinds of information to be arranged in varied and compelling ways. The exhibit modules were developed from a standardized kit of parts- including direct-to-ply prints, low energy LED lightboxes, A/V and specimens creating a non-linear “contemporary cabinet of curiosities.” www.volumesf.com

Rising sea levels are a reality because of global warming. We know the problem is becoming more serious. As a graphic designer, the goal of my project is to warn young people about this issue and send messages about other consequences of climate change in my project titled, “Rise of a New World.” It is in the form of a graphic novel and newly designed action figures to tell this fictional story of life in the year 2106. In this project, I am using new and different methods to express the issue of global warming.

whole story1

WHOLE is an eco-friendly clothing brand that reminds everyone to take care of other elements and creatures in our world by mending and reusing their clothing. The brand endeavours to lengthen the lifespan of a t-shirt by using sustainable materials from the beginning, providing mending kits, and challenging customers to wear the piece of clothing for as long as they can. When the t-shirt is no longer wearable, the clothing fibers will be recycled into journal paper.
